About Us

Welcome to The Aspen House Restaurant! While we’re known for offering the best hand-cut steaks in Wyoming, we’re also famous for our signature sauces, exciting spice blends, and our come-as-you-are approach to fine dining. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, we invite you to have dinner with us.

The Property

The Aspen House Restaurant has found a home in a Victorian house in Rawlins, Wyoming that was built back in 1905. With our special touch and passion for what we do, we’ve created a special dining experience with a historic twist.

Dr. Barber built the home back in 1905, and he used part of the house as his doctor’s office. The Brigg family purchased the home after Dr. Barber and used it as their law firm and home. In 1995, Lena and James Dirck, the Executive Chef and owners of The Aspen House, bought the house and converted it into a fine-dining restaurant for the people of Rawlins and tourists alike.

The Food

Enjoy the environment, but stay for the food! From light salads to hearty hand-cut steaks, pasta, and seafood, we have an exciting menu for everyone. Dig in, but make sure you leave room for dessert. We keep many local favorites, incorporating seasonal ingredients.

We brag about having the best steaks in Wyoming, and we mean it. Quality, pride, and dedication combine to set us apart from the rest. Whether you’re in your jeans or dressed to the nines, we invite you to the Aspen House for the best food in Rawlins.
